FAQ
Other questions? support@astrumvpn.com
What is Astrum?↓
A privacy-first VPN. The app connects through one of our global servers via the WireGuard protocol — encrypted, low-latency, and free of third-party trackers.
How fast is it?↓
Typical added latency: +10-20 ms versus direct, depending on which server you connect to. Servers run in Frankfurt, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Dublin, Stockholm and Paris on Hetzner ARM hardware, with more locations added regularly. Streaming, video calls and gaming all run at full quality.
What protocol do you use?↓
WireGuard — the same protocol Apple uses inside iCloud Private Relay. Curve25519 for key exchange, ChaCha20-Poly1305 for data encryption. Faster than OpenVPN, lighter on battery, audited open-source.
How long does setup take?↓
About 60 seconds. Download the iOS app, Sign in with Apple, choose Monthly or Yearly, tap Allow on the VPN-permission sheet, tap Connect. No URLs to paste, no third-party clients to install.
How do I pay?↓
iOS: Apple in-app purchase, billed via your Apple ID. Desktop and Android: credit card via Stripe (we also accept Alipay where activated). Apple/Stripe handle currency conversion automatically.
Which devices are supported?↓
iPhone (iOS 16+), iPad, Android (8.0+), macOS (12+), and Windows (10/11) native apps. Download links: https://astrumvpn.com/download.
How many devices per account?↓
Standard plan: 3 devices. Pro: 5 devices. Premium: 10 devices. On iOS, sign in with Apple across all your Apple-ID devices to unlock the subscription on each.
Refund policy?↓
Refunds are handled through Apple. Request via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Astrum → Report a Problem, or report.apple.com. Apple's default policy allows refunds within 14 days for EU users; we never veto a refund request.
Do you keep logs?↓
No. We do not log destinations, DNS queries, source IPs, or session timestamps beyond what the tunnel itself needs to function. The only data we retain about your account is the Apple sub-identifier (to verify your subscription on sign-in) and aggregate per-account byte counters. Server private keys are generated on the box and never leave it.
What if you receive a legal request for my data?↓
Astrum Network Limited is incorporated in England & Wales and complies with validly served legal requests in that jurisdiction. The answer we can give is constrained by what we hold: account email, subscription status, aggregate byte usage — no traffic content, no DNS, no destinations.
How do I cancel?↓
In the iPhone Settings app: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Astrum → Cancel. Effective at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
